About

    Me

Psychotherapy is a second career for me but it feels as though it was what I was always meant to do. I am a graduate of the Gestalt Institute of Toronto's 5 year training program and hold an undergraduate degree in Psychology. Returning to school as a mature student was a challenge and a privilege as is the career I have undertaken.

Empathy, creativity, sensitivity and humour play central roles in my approach. Also, ensuring that you - as my client - understand that we are equals, working together to focus on your personal growth.

I am also a client when I'm with my therapist. I believe that to be an effective therapist, it's essential to have a first-hand understanding of what it is like to work through challenges from a client's perspective. And, if I'm asking someone to be vulnerable in my presence, I better be willing to walk that walk as well.

The heart of my practice is relationships, intimacy and sexuality. I believe that connection and contact between people are fundamental ingredients of the quality of one's life.

I've done training in relationship therapy with Esther Perel, Terry Real as well as the Gestalt Institute of Toronto and have also completed the Intensive Sex Therapy Certification at the University of Guelph.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist according to the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (certificate Number: 003153). I am also a member of the Canadian Association for Psychodynamic Therapists.
